About MADERA

MADERA is a design firm that utilizes the medium of wood for innovation and creative expression. We design and make the highest quality wood floors and millwork that intend to inspire and engage a modern audience. The MADERA aesthetic is rooted in Scandinavian design. We push for simple beauty in our products, and believe that simplicity and clean design can lead us to a greater understanding of the natural world and our relationship to it.

MADERA was born in Brooklyn, New York in 2012. During the past eight years we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate on some truly inspiring projects, brands and designs. From a Benedictine Monastery who took a leap of faith with Indigo Ash to Patagonia who came to us to help find a sustainably sourced reclaimed timber to then winning Architizer’s Best Hard Surface in 2017 for Bone White Ash. We have always pushed the limits of wood in design and will continue to do so. We don’t take our luck for granted, but have found that if you surround yourself with talent and passion things tend to work out.
