Project Overview
Eglinton Beach Primary School is a significant new education facility located in Perth's rapidly expanding northern coastal corridor. Developed to support the growing Eglinton community, the school provides contemporary learning environments for students from Kindergarten to Year 6, including a dedicated Education Support Program.
As a new public primary school designed to serve a rapidly growing community, Eglinton Beach Primary School required washroom facilities that could accommodate a diverse range of users, from Kindergarten students through to upper primary students and Education Support Program participants.
Project Team
Designed by TAG Architects and constructed by EMCO Building for the Western Australian Department of Finance and Department of Education, the $41.1 million project delivers modern teaching spaces, specialist learning areas, administration facilities, covered outdoor learning environments and purpose-built amenities designed to support the needs of students and staff.
With a strong focus on accessibility, inclusivity and long-term durability, the school required amenity solutions capable of withstanding intensive daily use while providing safe, welcoming and age-appropriate facilities for students of all ages.
The project team sought amenity solutions that would:
- Provide durability in high-traffic educational environments.
- Support accessibility and inclusivity requirements.
- Create age-appropriate facilities for younger students.
- Complement the contemporary architectural design of the school.
- Minimise maintenance requirements and whole-of-life costs.

Particular attention was given to the early childhood facilities, where washroom design plays an important role in encouraging independence while maintaining appropriate levels of supervision and safety.
