At the end of this presentation, you should be able to:
1. Explain the physiological and occupational benefits of daylight, including biophilic responses and circadian regulation, and apply these principles when designing large-format buildings.
2. Identify the safety risks associated with fragile roofing and skylights, and evaluate how design decisions contribute to mitigating fall-through hazards.
3. Interpret the relevant Australian Standards (AS 1562.3, AS 4040, AS 4256) that govern skylight design, installation, and testing requirements.
4. Assess material performance factors, including UV degradation, reinforcement types, diffusion quality, and long-term structural durability, when selecting skylight systems for architectural projects.
